Cherry Parsons is a fine artist who was born and raised in Horsham, West Sussex.
When describing herself, Cherry explains that she has always been a creative person. Prior to becoming a professional artist, she owned an independent fashion shop in the 70’s, selling many of her own creations, and has always enjoyed being hands on with her ideas, allowing her imagination to run wild.
Despite not being permitted to study art after high school, her passion for it never left, and she continued to paint and draw as often as she could. Finally, in the late 90’s Cherry chose to study art as a mature student, once her children had become more self-sufficient. This resulted in her studying art alongside her eldest daughter at Northbrook in Horsham.
Over the years Cherry has honed her skills as a mature student, her passion for learning didn’t stop when she completed her studies, and she regularly signs-up for short courses and art classes whenever possible. She is always keen to learn new techniques and surround herself with other creative people.
Jumping ahead to the present day and Cherry regularly exhibits at galleries, museums and art events across the UK. In addition to this, she now sells merchandise and greeting cards online and in independent shops.
Cherry enjoys taking inspiration from her travels. With a passion for many genres. She has a keen following for her dancers, landscapes, Mediterranean seascapes and of course her infamous seagulls – which have been shipped all over the globe.
Alongside her key genres, Cherry has always welcomed commissions; from family portraits, to grand interior murals – she loves taking on a challenge, and exceeding the expectations of those who approach her.
Her original pieces are predominantly painted in acrylics, oils or mixed-media. These are not sold online, and can only be exclusively purchased in galleries and at art fairs.
Cherry’s online products include mounted or framed prints, greeting cards, wrapping paper and umbrellas.
